BIOGRAPHY

Dr Muhammad Mufti Azis is an assistant professor of chemical engineering who also serves as the head of Chemical Engineering Master Program at the Department of Chemical Engineering UGM. His research theme is chemical engineering simulation which spans from modelling of heterogeneous catalysis, life cycle assessment and general modelling in chemical engineering. He has conducted research on energy and environment topic mainly in biomass utilization such as lignin conversion to EOR surfactant, palm oil to green diesel, pyrolisis of biomass and life cycle assessment simulations. He received his bachelor of engineering from UGM (2007), M.Sc (2009) and Ph.D (2015) from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. In 2017, he received Young Scientist Award from ITB Bandung. In 2023 he received 15 years of employment award from Universitas Gadjah Mada. Currently, he is also a member of PII (Persatuan Insinyur Indonesia) and IChemE.
