From June 16 to 18, 2025, Yanuar Rizky Darmawan Laksono, Amalia Mahadewiqu Rachmadhiani, Muhammad Fadhil Maheswara, and Muhammad Daffa Putranto, we are Chemical Engineering students from Universitas Gadjah Mada (batch of 2023), had the privilege of joining a one-semester student exchange program at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. This program allowed us to immerse ourselves in a vibrant academic environment, collaborate with peers, and expand our knowledge of engineering and innovation. A highlight of this experience was participating in the New Product Development Pitching Competition 2025, hosted by the School of Chemical Engineering Student Society (SCheSS) in collaboration with the Technology Entrepreneurship ENT600 subject. Competing against outstanding teams from diverse majors, we proudly secured 1st place with our 2D innovative prototype, ThinkTag.
ThinkTag is a groundbreaking smart bookmark integrated with NFC technology and paired with a user-friendly app to enhance the reading experience. Designed for versatility, ThinkTag caters to all age groups with tailored designs for kids, teens, and adults. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, ThinkTag offers practical features, such as tracking reading progress, accessing supplementary content, and having smart notifications. This achievement is a testament to how chemical engineers are not limited to chemical, oil, or other technical roles within the field of Chemical Engineering. Instead, we have the potential to become future entrepreneurs, leveraging our skills to explore and develop various opportunities. Winning this competition reflects our creativity, teamwork, and the support from our mentors at Universitas Gadjah Mada. It marks a milestone in our academic journey and inspires us to push the boundaries of innovation in both engineering and entrepreneurship.
