Yano Surya Pradana is a lecturer at the Chemical Engineering Department of Universitas Gadjah Mada. He finished his study in chemical engineering at Universitas Gadjah Mada and received his bachelor of engineering degree (2012). He earned a master of engineering degree at the same university with DIKTI Fast-Track Scholarship (2013). In 2019, Yano received three professional certifications, namely the professional engineer certification (Ir.) from Universitas Gadjah Mada, the intermediate professional engineer certification (IPM) from Persatuan Insinyur Indonesia, and ASEAN Engineer certification (ASEAN Eng) from ASEAN Engineering Register.

He teaches chemical engineering principles, heat transfer, physics, utilization and conversion of natural resources, mathematical modelling, the application of bioprocess, and entrepreneurship. His research interests focus on biodiesel production, waste to energy conversion, and microalgae to energy. His most contributed topics 2015-2019 concentrated in transesterification, photobioreactor, and bio-oil.
