BIOGRAPHY
Arief Budiman is one of the Professor at Chemical Engineering Universitas Gadjah Mada. He received his bachelor and master degree in Chemical Engineering Department of Universitas Gadjah Mada. Meanwhile, his doctoral degree was achieved from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan (1997) and obtained his Professor’s Decree in 2010.
Noted as the initiator and coordinator of the Process System Engineering research group (PSErg) Department of Chemical Engineering, FT UGM. His research interest related to: tropical renewable energy system, algae biorefinery, biomass to energy & chemicals. Currently, Professor Arief Budiman is trusted to be the Director of the Center of Excellence for Microalgae Biorefinery, UGM. He obtained several awards from UGM, such as Best Collaborative Research (2009), Best Achievement Lecturer (2011), and as runner up for Academic Leader in Technology (2019) from Kemenristekdikti. More than 80 papers have been written in international journals and presented at national and international seminars. Based on the Academic data (November, 2020): H-index = 14 (Scopus), H-index = 17 (Google Scholar), Sinta = 564.27, ResearchGate = 26.89).
He has received almost all of the grants offered by the Ministry of Agriculture, Kemenristek, Kemenritekdikti. Other grants he has ever received, from: PUP-ESDM DI Yogyakarta, Bekasi Regency, Committee for the Acceleration of Priority Infrastructure Provision (KPPIP), Investment Coordination Board (BKPM), Fiscal Policy Board (BKF), National Resilience Council (WANTANAS), PT Pupuk Kaltim, PT Pertamina, PT PLN, and USAID (Indonesia Clean Energy Development, ICED).
He collaborates with various partners to conduct research, such as: the Center for Marine Cultivation Research and Development (BPPBL) -Bali, the Medan Palm Oil Research Center (PPKS), PT Pertamina, PT PLN, PT Pupuk Kaltim, PT Kaltim Methanol Industri (KMI) Bontang, Department of PUP-ESDM DIY, Pemda Bekasi etc. While overseas partners are the Tokyo Institute of Technology, University of Tokyo, Hokkaido University and Kyushu University Japan.
